As my signature shows, I've been accepted to NAPS and have the principal nomination and am 3q'd for USAFA (so I should get a BFE one of these days :thumb:).

In my DoDMERB eye exam, the optometrist told me my left eye is at 20/25 and my right eye is at 20/50. I want to fly, and I know this is right at the cutoff point for USAF and past the cutoff point for USN and USMC (at 20/40 I believe).

What are the chances for waivers from any of these branches (USAF, USN, and USMC) for eyesight, and if the chances are slim, should I start aiming for a different career after an academy?

I am not sure about waivers but, they do offer corrective eye surgery at USAFA. You may or may not qualify for the surgery, however you would not know that until 2nd semester of your C3C year. Surgery to be performed(if qualified) after commitment of your C2C year.
Maybe someone else could you give info on waivers

If it is distant vision, 20/70 is the cut off for a class I flight physical.
