I have recently found out that I just might have been granted an NROTC scholarship by the university I applied to. They told me I was placed in their unit. My question though is, can I change my major? I've done some online research, and there are a few exceptions: 1) For when an applicant wishes to pursue a more technical major (moving up) 2) When an applicant has a change of interest in their filed ex. electrical to mechanical engineering (moving laterally) When I applied back in May, I honestly wasn't too sure about what I wanted to do, but I applied for the Nurse Corps and thus applied to my school to major in nursing. I don't foresee any issue about changing my major with the university, but would NETC be able to change my major to a tier 1 or 2 major at this point? Reason for this is that I have recently become fascinated by science; I'd like to pursue a degree in physics or mechanical engineering (both offered at my university). Instead of joining the Nurse Corps, I would perhaps pursue SWO to comply with a more technical major instead. Is this scenario feasible? and if so, who should I contact about it?
