Lets say one has been sent to the Character Review Committee...A) If a thumbs up is given to continue to the Admissions Board, will one be notified of this? B)Is it possibly beneficial to go before the committee if ones reasons for being sent are such that they have actually made the person who they are today and/or what they will become? Thank you for any helpful responses

Interesting, I was not aware of USNA convening a character review committee for candidates before admissions reviews a candidates credentials.

The Character Review Committee is used only for those candidates who have self-identified an issue in response to questions posed, such as a suspension or expulsion at school, a run-in with the law, alcohol or drugs, etc. I believe you are asked to describe the incident (in writing) in detail, discuss what you learned from it, etc.

I don't believe you get any notification regarding their "findings."

Just to confirm what usna1985 said, you will not be notified of their decision (at least if you pass their review). Just answer the questions they ask you honestly and try to express what you learned from the incident, etc. This was the part I was most worried about through the admissions process but I passed and received and appointment this year, so don't count yourself out!

Thank you WouldBePlebe, its nice to have a story to relate to. I need something to hinge on to, this whole stalking the mail man thing isn't working for me. But having said that, I wonder if its possible for answers given to actually provide more insight to the person you are (in the eyes of admission). It seems as though its possible for the answers given to provide a more in-depth look at a candidate (like the BGO interview).
