Checking status on the admissions portal?

This is true and ONLY your assigned BGO and Area Coordinator can access this information .

And, though we may have access to a decision we are not permitted to contact an applicant with that information. MOC's have first opportunity to contact those who have received appointments.

Don't contact the MOC to find your status and here is why:

(1) If the MOC knew, they would have called you. It is VERY RARE that a MOC staffer would receive this information and not turn it around, because all of them want to share in the pride in LETTING THEIR CANDIDATE KNOW! It isn't as if the MOC (actual) is going to delay calling the candidate for a few days, because they know that the BFE is going to be mailed!!!

Son had two noms (three years ago)....when TX Senator's office called to tell him he was getting a nom, they left message. He returned call and they told him at that time he was getting an appointment. MOC, local, here in town, also gave him a nom and did not call with appointment news.

My DS received a phone call from our MOC then about 10 days later received the BFE, however, nothing has updated on the candidate portal except that it notes she received nominations from her senator and local congressman.

This is a really old thread. The scuttlebutt on the boards is that the USNA portals do not update. They just automatically delete at the beginning of June.

I was reading through this forum because I myself am in the same boat now 😂...

Does anyone know if this information on this panel is still accurate in regards to being notified of your status? I have a bad habit of checking my CIS login daily to see if I've been appointed. Will it update and show there? Or is it up to my nomination source to contact me if I've received an appointment?

You have re-awakened a zombie thread some years old. I responded to a similar post on another thread. Pace yourself! This is a difficult time, the waiting.

If you could be so kind, could you link the thread you discussed this about? I'd greatly appreciate it! (The anxiety of not knowing every day is eatingggggg me alive......)

First, the Portal System changed last year....nothing from 2012-2014 is the same.

Second, I have not heard of anyone receiving an Offer of Appointment, and not knowing it. Whether it be a call from the MOC, a text or email, or a BFE showing up at your door, you will know.

If you could be so kind, could you link the thread you discussed this about?
Finally, as a rule of thumb, I would discourage asking a Navy Captain to look things up for you...

As others have posted repeatedly -- be patient. I know the wait is tough, and its even tougher when everyone is over analyzing everything they see online Work on Plan B, C, and D,,,,,,and hope that they are wasted effort.

This is the link to where I answered your own post, same query, another similar thread. You typically don’t have to post the same question in multiple places. Someone will answer.
