Can we get a checklist started for I day... including some things we talked about at orientations that aren't necessarily in the appointee information packet, (ie social security card)

I got this postcard in the mail from the AOG and it basically outlines a bunch of stuff you need.

Sweet, that helps. What about personal experience. The cadet I was with at orientation told me definitely compression shorts, duct tape, and some other little "didn't think of" items

We are unable to open to postcard from Grads re what to bring; we received the same mailing but can't open the site -- I think our computer is unable to upload the necessary link. We have a pretty good list from the Appointee packet and from Orientation but if someone is able, without too much trouble, to somehow print the list from the postcard -- that would be great. Only if it isn't too much hassle to figure out.

    Thanks!

I know that I had to update my flash player, so visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and see if that fixes your problem.

mateus is right. you dont NEED to bring anything besides all the required paperwork and a razor if you're a guy and feminine stuff if you're a gal. you'll go to the c-store and can buy certain things during basic, and you'll get issued everythin else. lookin back, there's NO reason to have more than one small backpack of stuff.

Yeah, my kids left their hearth and home with a razor and a phone card to use at their b&b's home, along with the required paperwork. All fit into a paper lunch bag.

Actually this year may be a bit different. The TI that is in charge of BCT came and gave a brief at the P school earlier this year and warned us that the "magic money" is not going to exist this year and that they expect us to bring all of our own toiletries, and that they would not be issued because of it.

I'd really love to get some input here about how to bring the boots. Is it advisable to travel with (wear) them there, or put them in a bag.

I'm not sure why I did it, but I bought 2 pairs at Orientation. What's the best way to bring 2 pairs of boots or should I just bring one, get another pair there, and have a third set at home?

They say if you bought two pairs, you wear one pair there and bring the other by hand. I'm assuming you can bring it in a bag (like a shopping bag eg- Hollister bag) and just throw the bag away when you get to B&B or even to I-day.

i brought my one pair around my neck.. it doesnt much matter. you wont even be thinking about it during i-day, except when they're in your hand all day and you get sick of carrying them :)

    dont worry bout it :)

if you want to wear them, do it.

if you want to carry them, do it.

you'll be in them in no time during i-day anyway, so it doesnt matter a bit
