Chelsea Piers in NYC

Any information/recommendations regarding how to get from USMMA to Chelsea Piers for the Senior Cruise would be greatly appreciated. I am not very familiar with NY! We will not have a car. Thanks!

Get to Penn Station on the LI Railroad from Great Neck. Then it's a short cab ride to Chelsea Piers. It is also walkable if you are inclined. There are also buses that will take you there going cross town. Chelsea Piers' web site for directions and suggestions.

We got together with some other members of our parents club and rented a car and a driver. It was expensive but we split the cost and in the end it was well worth it. The ride home was a bit of a blur.

Any recommendation on car companies/driver (limo svc)? I have four people wanting to go. Anyone else?
