Citadel acceptance- Class of 2016

Accepted also

I received my acceptance at the beginning of September, and will hopefully be attending in the fall. Just waiting on the results for the NROTC MO scholarships to know what the financial situation is.

Also, don't know if anybody else on here applied for the Honors College, but those results will hopefully be out soon as well. I think it will most likely be sometime in April.

Congrats on being accepted! Hope to see you in August.

Financial Aid

DS was accepted, but will receive nothing in the way of scholarships from the college. They did say that we could borrow the entire first year. Sadly that is more than I make in a year.

I feel you there with the financial aid. Between my husband and I, we made $21,000 last year and only got 3000 dollars in fin aid.

DS received The Citadel Scholars' Scholarship and was accepted to The Honors Program for class of 2016.

Congratulations Proud. If your DS has decided on the Citadel he may be interested in the welcome dinner Dr. Rhodes has for all the new Honors Program cadets (and parents) the evening before the incoming class reports.

Yes, DS has been committed to The Citadel since his 10th grade year. He doesn't want to go anywhere else. He was accepted in August and we are just waiting on his finale transcripts from HS now and this scholarship and honors program is just "icing on the cake." Dr. Rhodes has already invited us to the dinner on Friday evening and we will be there.

I just received a letter of academic acceptance to The Citadel last week and sent in my deposit and medical forms the day after. Should I call to make sure they have received everything? Is academic acceptance like first cuts? I’ve always wanted to go to the Citadel and actually hearing back from them is still hard for me to believe. I hope these questions aren’t too dumb.

Follow up

There are no dumb questions. It is always a good idea to follow up after sending in your information. Keep copies of everything you send in and keep a record with date items were sent. That advice also applies once you are in the school too. If a professor has to sign a document, or if the registrar requires a form signed, keep a copy before you turn it in, just to cover yourself.

I also will be attending The Citadel! Looking forward to the challenge and meeting new people, comming in from Illinois

I"m from northern Illinois, just a few min from the Iowaa border, so i might have you by an hour or so haha- but shoot me a direct message or email sometime, it"d be cool to know some people before I show up!
