Lieutenant General Glenn Walters '79 has been nominated for promotion to the rank of General and reassignment as the 34th Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps; he is currently serving as Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources. A career aviator he is a graduate of the Navy Test Pilot School, commanded the first USMC V-22 squadron and recently served as Commanding General of the 2d Marine Air Wing at MCAS Cherry Point. He replaces General John Paxton who is retiring after a 42 year career.
