Citadel Questions.

my dad was class of '91 at the citadel.

im class of 2018 and i am getting really excited even though i still have 2 years of high school left ha.

i have a couple questions if anyone can help.

first, i have a Provisional Appointment to go there. What exactly does that mean? is it just something that goes through families? does it give me any type of advantage?

also, my dad was in Charlie company, and if i go there, i would also like to be in Charlie company. Upon gaining acceptance, would i be allowed to choose that for myself because of my dad? Because i would love to be a casual cat haha.

a provisional appointment is more of an honorary thing but it means you are guaranteed admission as long as you meet the basic academic standards. Company assignments are normally random but they usually honor requests to be in a company that a family member was in.
