Have any Citadel Scholar applicants received notice of scholarship award for the 2012-2013 aid year? They are about two weeks behind their schedule, based on what we were told to expect during the interview day.

DS will be attending The Citadel on a 3yr AD AROTC scholarship (class of 2016). Would love to have all of information available upon which to base our final decision.
 
Have you contacted the office directly? DS was in that boat last year. After he called and explained his situation, the office provided the offer orally and then followed up with an email and snail mail.

If your DS is communicating with anyone at or associated with the Citadel, that individual may be able to get the results back to you more quickly. DS asked his coach to assist. Good Luck
 
Left voicemail and email at the financial aid office, have had no reply. We haven't established a relationship with the cadre yet enough to give anyone a call. Current JROTC Instructor is also a Citadel grad, maybe we will give him a call.
 
DS was also at the last scholars day in March. He received notification by regular mail April 9 that he had received the scholarship and also was accepted to the honors program by regular mail on April 14. I saw on FB where 2 others heard last week too.
 
Proud, thanks for the info. It appears increasingly likely that he didn't receive a scholarship.

All the same, I wish they would inform us of the outcome in a timely manner.
 
Update:

Finally got someone on the phone at Financial Aid. They patched me through to LtCol Fuller, who made an offer verbally, which was immediately reflected in the Lesesne Gateway award package.

Extremely happy with the outcome. DS is enthused, his mom is happy that he'll be 10 miles down the road at The Citadel, and I'm glad I won't have to sell another kidney to pay for his school like I did for his older brother! :thumb:
