    Hello everyone,
I recently put a post up about JROTC, but I am not bale to get in anymore because the year has already started, and I was informed too late to join. I always have next year, but the Col. at the JROTC said if im not in for 2 years, it will just look like a high school class. One more option I recently learned about was Civil Air Patrol near me. I was wondering if it would be to my benefit to take that instead, and if the Naval Academy looks at it in steps to admission.
    Thanks everyone!

i went through the exact same process, I could not join JROTC so i looked at other options like CAP.

Joining Civil Air Patrol was one of the best decisions of my life. If you have any interest in the military, CAP is a great place to start.

On the internet CAP showcases that it is all about flying, in reality you can be in CAP for years without ever flying. There is more of drill, leadership, PT and emergency services.

    Good luck in your decision

It's definitely a good choice simply for the leadership experience it provides. Just remember to focus first on academics, then round it out with athletics as well. They're looking for the whole package.
