Civilian school has my CGA application?

Today I submitted an application to Virginia Tech as one of my "Plan B" schools. Near the end of the process there was a "Submitted Forms" page that listed both my AIM application and my 2016 CGA application and then the application that I had just completed for VT.

Why does VT have my application to the USCGA - and how did they get it? I don't recall being told that, or giving permission that those applications would be available to other schools. I have nothing to hide, I am just surprised.

Any body else have a similar experience?

Does it use the same application software?

I applied to colleges on paper, so I'm a little out of my depth, but the only thing I could think of is it's the same system and you can see any application you've done through that system on your interface. Just a really guess. I have no idea what all this online application stuff is and I've never seen a computer.

Yes, a quick check says they do use the same online application service (ApplyWeb). The Citadel uses the same system as well.

I would assume, as I can see all of my job applications on USA Jobs, but the individual agencies can't, that the same is true for the applications to schools.

USCGA Admissions began using the ApplyWeb system this year.

Over 400+ colleges use the ApplyWeb system, so any previously submitted applications, including this year's AIM application, would be in the system.
