Since the instructions to new cadets haven't been mailed or posted to our portals, I was wondering if any of the current cadets or older members on the forum could detail some of the differences as far as how the arrival/planning of our next 4 years will go at USMA as apposed to a civilian college? For example, are you told much about what company you will be in, dorms, etc., when do you sign up for classes, that sort of thing. Any advice will help. I hope this isn't that much of an annoyance, the only reason I ask is because I don't really know what the instructions will say, and both of my parents and I are curious. Any help?

You will get detailed info for your arrival prior to Rday--including exactly what to bring. On Rday, your parents will go through a briefing detailing your summer and classes. Your classes will be assigned based on what you test out of or not. These tests are during beast. You will get your schedule during reorganization week (after beast). You have very little choice here; there are set classes you will take. You will be assigned a barrack based on your company assignment...again, something you find out during beast.

So basically what I am getting is, I will find out everything during beast. Haha ok! Thanks!

Well I know I have to pack a few things, but all of my friends are going through housing, choosing dorm-mates, and getting everything set up at their civilian colleges, and I was wondering if there was anything I was going to need to pre-register for. Sounds like you find out during CBT, which I expected.
