Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself to all of you. My name is Blake and I'm a USAFA class of '18 hopeful. I've been an Air Force BRAT my whole life and I hope to become a part of the long blue line! If there are any other class of '18 hopefuls out there, I'd love to get to know you!

Be careful where you put your name, lest BCT cadre get ahold of it.

You only have a brief window to edit your posts. When viewing your recent post you will see an 'edit' button on the bottom of the border. You may edit or delete your post for a short window of time. After that time has expired, your post remains.

For a variety of reasons it is wise to remain annonymous on these forums. Thankfully, Stealth has deleted your last name from the original post.

Best wishes for success in your pursuit of an appointment.

Since it is past the time allowed for Blake to edit his post, I went ahead and edited out his last name. I think that will suffice to protect him from the cadre 15 months from now!

Thank you stealth! Nobody deserves the hazing that comes from name recognition. Unless you earn it.

I hope no one gets too wrapped up in concealing their identity on here. Simply because the cadre knows your name doesn't mean you are suddenly in for hell at BCT. While I agree it's a good idea to remain somewhat anonymous, it is really not a big deal.

    Personal story to show:

Anyone who has been here for a while knows that I have always avoided talking too much about my son when he was at USAFA in order to help him stay below anyone's radar.

Last summer I received a letter in the mail from a recent grad thanking me for the help she got on this forum. She was a 2011 medical turnback who came back as Class of 2012 and graduated with a pilot slot. She was thankful for the support and information that she got here during her turnback. She gave me her email, so I just had to ask her how she got my address. She said "I just asked your son". According to her it was no secret there who my son was.....and I thought I was doing such a good job as a Stealth_Dad! The point is, he never got any grief from people knowing who he was. Unless you do or say foolish stuff that will garner the attention of the cadre (ie: MarsBoy) you should be fine even if someone knows who you are.

In the past when there were orientation weekends, many of the new appointee posters on here met with upperclass posters for dinner on Sunday and it was never an issue.

Don't worry about it too much.

Woohoo! Hopeful class of '18 here as well! Dang, I can barely start anything until I do my second ACT on the 13th... I got a 27 on my last one. Did anyone get in with less than a 30? If so, were your physical component parts just phenomenal?

I'm taking my ACT on the 13 too... and then a school paid-for ACT on the 23! And as far as your 27, here's a good link that shows GPA and ACT and SAT scores from people both accepted and rejected

No need to be. Your posts are harmless and are valid questions. The careless ones in the past who were cocky and foolish to post unflattering things about the upperclassmen because they skipped on certain aspects of traditional training are the ones who bore the brunt of the cadre's ire.:rant2:

    LEAD program applicant

I'll be starting my application process to the LEAD program soon. Hoping to transfer from being an enlisted Airman weather forecaster to a cadet :) I had hopes of applying to the academy straight out of high school but my SAT/ACT scores sucked. Hopefully the second time is the charm for those and this time I'll actually study too :) Any other enlisted LEAD applicants on here?
