Thank you. The package I received in the mail containing the certificate and letter was amazing. It is probably my most prized possession haha. So excited to begin my new life of training come June.

The nomination that was used towards my appointment was a service-connected nomination through JROTC at my school. The NJROTC unit at my school is an honor unit with academic honors and distinction, so I applied to the Secretary of the Army for a nomination. I also applied to Florida's 3 members of congress and the Vice President. It took a few weeks for me to receive confirmation of my service-connected nomination.

I recieved an appointment to USMA Class of 2015 on 26 October. GO ARMY!
the funny thing is I got the news while I was visiting Texas A&M for their JCAP Program.

I received my appointment October 14th with a presidential nomination (located in MA). I had received an LoA Oct 5.
 
There seem to be many ways to finding out about an appointment - what is the most common way? Portal? Mail? Call from Congressman?
And in the portal, what changes to say that you have an appointment?

I found out through mail although my liason officer had been dropping hints but not really wanting to ruin the surprise when I called him about my LoA (I had a presidential nomination and completed file at time I got the LoA). Then again, two of my friends have had their appointments hand delievered. Now given, one still lives on post at WP and the other is in NY, but there's definitly been a lot of variety that I've heard of.
 
I first found out about my appointment through the online portal. I check the portal daily for updates or new information I need to submit. Under the "Nominations" box on the overview page there was another box called "Appointment." The box asks whether you'd like to accept or decline your offer of admission.

How long does it take for the appointment to come through once you have an LOA, complete file, and nomination?

I got my senator nomination and an LOA.... so I hope to be getting the appointment soon, if all goes accordingly :)

Congrats, and it's great to hear it can happen that fast! It's been longer than that since the Nom showed up on the portal for DS. He has confirmed with admissions file was complete, LOA still in effect, all signs are go. So just waiting on the process!

Make you wonder if they have to have a final board review? Or if it's the "have to let the competitive slate clear" issue. (DS was a senate nom via competitive slate)
 
My MALO said that she would be monitoring my progress because I had an LOA. I assume that once I receiver my nomination, an appointment shouldn't be too far away.

It took longer for me - LOA/complete file/nom was all done by the end of July but I heard nothing until mid-October.
