Does anyone know the status of the class of 2015-

Planned Size of the class (I have heard 1250 people)
    How many have already accepted?
How many have appointments but have not yet accepted?
What has been the acceptance rate so far?

I believe it is safe to say that at this point that the Class of 2015 is closed. While in past years there have been appointments issued to fill declinations up to R-Day, the acceptance rate this year has been so overwhelming that from what I have heard these "follow-up" appointments were not necessary this year.

Those who have been offered an appointment have until May 1st to accept.

The planned class size is either 1250 or 1225 new cadets; the number differs depending on who you ask.

I am sure that it is not closed. Some small number of people will decline their appointments next week (1 May deadline). These will be filled by people on the NWL.

Im pretty sure I heard somewhere that wont be the case this year because of the high acceptance rate and meticulously planned size of the class. Hopefully a MALO can confirm?

Well if someone was to deny in the next week they will still need to pick someone else, so what you guys are arguing about is the semantics of "closed".
They already have everyone ranked I'm sure so if someone was to deny, or do something wrong to get their appointment taken away they would just pull of the next in line correct? The way I see it is if you haven't got a TWE yet then you still have a CHANCE, emphasis on chance. Since it is such a competitive year admissions will have no problem with picking the next in line so don't try to look at it as Closed or not Closed, because anything can happen.

not if they do such a great job at forecasting that they already sent out more than the 1225 to 1250 in anticipation of people declining.

not really. it might mean the class is actually closed, meaning no more offers. if they sent out more acceptance letters than they were projecting for the 1225, then any applicants rejecting the offers would not be replaced be another acceptance letter.

Leaving speculations aside, I think it would be wise to wait for a MALO to inform us.

Nothing is over until it's over. Anything can happen between now and R-Day. If you got an appointment make sure you officially accept by May 1, and if you still haven't heard either way, you are still in the game until you get the official TWE

This lack of precision is just the thing the enemy is looking to exploit! He needs to go!

Huh? Please take your criticism of the Superintendent elsewhere.

In any event, I expect that the headcount for the Class of 2015 will shrink throughout CBT and beyond. The only accurate headcount for the Class of 2015 will be when they graduate approximately four years from now.

The incoming class was selected from a pool of almost 14,000 applicants. There are 213 women, who comprise 17 percent of the class. parentesq, My post was meant as a joke.

Very sad story about that young man, and shows how absolutely meaningful that a place like West Point is to that family, and all of our families.
