Portal?

What is the web address of the "portal"? Is it just the online application page?
Or is it another site?

Totally sick of seeing "Candidate". I thought there may be another site where it was different. Definition of insanity...

Actually from what I've heard even after being offered an appointment it still says candidate :p! But ah man I hear you! A lot of people want that new appointment offered column to open up :shake:

I used to be sane... but then i developed the habit of frequently checking my candidate portal.

At least one second is as long as the next, eh?

Insider probably knows the date of the next Academy Board but he may not be able to say. It doesn't really matter. Unless you get a TWE (which will be online this year) you are still in the running.

Hang in there. It may still be a while until you know anything.

*Sigh* I just realized that the "waiting game" is really monopoly. When you start to play it never ends and when you finish you want to pull your hair out but in this case when you win you receive your appointment. Right now I only have two more houses left and I'm almost bankrupt. :shake:

Hang in there. At least you and our DS will get the benefit of seeing portals change 8-12 hours before anyone else.

Trust the Academy Board. They know what they are doing. DS was in your position two years ago. He received a Falcon Scholarship in early May. Best thing that could have happened. He excelled at NWP in California and received an appointment the next year and is now enjoying USAFA as a recognized C4C. It may take longer than you expected, wanted, or hoped for but keep your end goal in mind and hang on for the ride. He had a buddy at NWP who had been in Beijing with his family and he is also at USAFA now. (Just thought I'd throw that in seeing you are based in Seoul and the logistics of a prep school might be a concern).

The "Selections Panel" and the "Academy Board" are not the same thing. Selections Panels meet on a regular basis from September through April. They are composed of officers (from all around USAFA) and Admissions personnel and review candidate files (and ultimately make a select/non-select recommendation). The Academy Board is comprised of the most senior officers (Superintendent, Commandant, Dean of Faculty, etc.). The Academy Board make the final decision on appointment offers.

That makes a lot more sense. It confused me to see appointments come out at different dates when the panels I can see on the schedule were fairly routine. I appreciate the clarification!
