Congratulations to your DS. So happy for you. Way to go.DS's USAFA portal - 12/14/2015:
"Congratulations! You have been offered an appointment to the US Air Force Academy! Please open the attached letter for details."
Congratulations! Well done.Letter of Assurance received today!
My DD received and accepted her appointment to the USAFA this morning. It has suddenly become so real. We are extremely proud of her. Thank you to everyone who gave us advice and guided us through the process. We feel like all of you are part of her success. Aim high!
Congrats to your DS. Great news indeed. My son (LoA from the AFA right before Thanksgiving) got a call from one of the MOC he interviewed with Tuesday, offering nominations for both the AFA *and* USMA, where he has a "Letter of Encouragement" but some form outstanding from his HS.
Happy and relieved to get the good news of the nom(s) before Christmas.
JestFF, congrats on your NOM; you are one step closer. Some MOCs nominate a principal and rank the other 9 candidates. If so, then the academy must appoint the principal if he meets all of the qualifications. Some MOCs do not choose a principal but just nominate 10 candidates and then the academy chooses the appointee. There us a sticky on the top of the Nominations forum that explains this in more detail. It might be helpful. So my nomination from my district representative wasn't specified as a principal. Can I ask what the difference is between a principal nomination and whatever other kind of nomination there is? I attached a photo of the letter notifying me that I got the nomination of that helpsView attachment 424
Thanks for making it simple! I had an idea that's what it meant but I wasn't sure. Final step for my application is to get my ALO to get his evaluation turned in. It's been about 4 months since the interview so I'm just patiently waiting. Sucks that I went through all the work to get all my application done early but it hasn't even been reviewed because of the ALO evaluationJestFF, congrats on your NOM; you are one step closer.
