I'm in junior college and I'm taking alot of units. In the spring I'm taking pre-calc, physics, comp politics, and a few other courses but not chemistry. I thought I wouldn't wan't to overload myself with an already tough semester. Will this hurt my academy package or would it be ok if I took chem in the fall?

Just curious....how many hours are you taking?

That just doesn't look like a heavy courseload to me. My cadet's WP admissions officer told him to take the toughest classes his school had to offer. I could be wrong but I think he had 21 hours last semester at WP....my other son is at a traditional college and almost died because he had to take 15 hours last semester. So show West Point you can handle what they will dish out and really challenge yourself.

I can't answer about the best time to take Chemistry but...... are you planning on taking a higher-level Calculus? I would. Of course, as always, West Point Admissions has all the answers and that's where you should ask your question.

Depending on whether the OP is on quarter or semester, his courseload of 6 classes may indeed be very tough. 6 classes in 11 weeks vs. 6 classes in 15 weeks is quite different in terms of pacing.

Good luck and take the most rigorous schedule you can. :thumb:
