My DD is attending CLDT this summer. The posted end date is June 13th, a Saturday. Does anyone know if in years past there have been buses to the airports on the same day they return? There was for Buckner last year, but I don't want to assume. . .

You can check the posted bus schedule from last year on the parents' page and assume it will be similar. If not, The ferry should be running and it's NBD to take the train...time to learn how to do that if she hasn't already.

Thanks mom3boys. . . A better question would have been are they usually released in time to make a run down to the airports on that Saturday? I already checked the bus schedules to get a clue and they only list CFT Release, not CLDT release. The main reason for wanting to know now, is, of course, plane tickets. It's six weeks out, the optimum time for the best price, and has anyone seen the rates for this summer already? Crazy. . . at least to fly to the west coast.

You could ask this question on the West Point Parents page and see what last year's experience was.

I don't recall buses last year, nor are any listed on USMA or WP.org. (CFT is, however) Pinged my DS, he should know from last year.

You also need to know which session, starting last year there were two.

There will be specific info on arrival/departure given to the cadets, you probably need to wait for that. There is not as much airline pressure like there is when the full corps is let off at the same time.

Thanks, hawk, I look forward to what your DS has to say. My DD is in the second session, ends on June 13th, a Saturday.

Last year cadets were able to leave 1400-1500 the day they were dismissed. He can't recall if GMK buses ran or not as he had to stay to close down CLDT.

In any case, I'd still have your cadet seek out details for this year. They should be available by now from the cadet leadership or DMI.

I believe it ends on the 12th. Nearly had heart failure as son goes from SLE on the 12th to NASS on the 13th. :)
