Closed for Christmas?

I know they closed pretty early last year and I was wondering if the admissions office is closed for Christmas yet. I'm still waiting for them to receive a couple things and was hoping to call my counselor to check. Anyone know when they'll be back by?
 
I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking about calling my admissions counselor tomorrow (assuming that he is there to call). They might close up tomorrow, but definitely Thursday.

The President has declared 1/2 day on December 24th. Aside from that, if you need to speak with someone at USAFA, I really recommend you call EARLY on the 23rd as most folks will be heading out that afternoon. Not everyone but...

The last board for the yr probably met this past Monday, so hopefully some of you will have a nice present delivered today or Saturday for Christmas.

In yrs passed the board meets when school is in session, thus, there will be no new boards until the Monday that the cadets are back in.
 
Will the admissions office be closed until 1/4/2010? I am sure they will be overwhelmed with items waiting to be processed, so how long does it usually take for the updated info to appear? I received my nom 12/11/09 and was hoping that would be added before the boards start meeting again.
 
I have a question, too. Is it possible for the board to have the paperwork in front of them, but not have it reflected on the application status page. We're still waiting for paperwork that was sent out by the GC on Dec 14th to be reflected. That's the last piece. My daughter has requested it be sent out again, just in case, but that won't happen until Monday or Tuesday the earliest and it took a lot of hounding for it to get sent out the first time! Thanks!
 
Short answer Bulldog...YES! They will not review any packets until the 4th.

I would ASSUME (and we all know what that means), that your nom has been added to your file before they took their break. The online has a lag time that has nothing to do with what is sitting on the Regional Directors desk for you. Also for EVERY CANDIDATE, you may have your packet completed, but if 1 person on that slate has an incomplete packet, nobody from the MOC slate can be appointed. In other words, if Candidate Smith on your MOC list does not submit their CFA until Feb 10th, you will not get an answer until they are assigned a WCS. It could be even later if you are placed into the NWL. It is important to realize that the AFA is not a traditional rolling admission. The only exception would be an LOA.

That answered my question but now I feel worse knowing my waiting is dependent on other cadidates files also. Seeing all the appointments go out for all the SA has made me impatient. Guess I need to chill and enjoy my senior year (stated many times already on these forums). Baseball season starts next week so that will help!
