    Congratulations

I will give you a tip. Spend time with your daughter prior to attending the orientation weekend if you are going to attend because they purposely keep the parents and the students seperated. We were told we would have an hour of time with DS prior to him taking off with the cadets. Nope, it was like 2 minutes and he was gone! So be prepared.

So glad to hear your daughter got in! My DS "celebrated" his 19th birthday on matriculation day at VMI this past August.

    She will be fine...

Just have her watch the Frog Week vids and realize that it is hard but actually fun too. DS told me about 7 people quit in the first couple of days. He said the ones that quit were struggling with the physical stuff, but he said the instructors really encouraged them not to quit but they did anyway. DS said one cadet had come all the way from Michigan and went home. The first semester was very busy but DS had a great time at school and he is finishing up with solid grades. DS advises to get involved and join clubs on campus. One fun thing my son attends every Mon eve is BCM. DS made lots of friends and had a great support group there. We actually watched the FROG week video together and read through each days activities. She is pretty active because of cheerleading and has said that she was going to start a PT regime the first of the year(she nailed the pushup and situp portion of the physical for the ROTC scholarship, her running was the weakest part). She would really love the Baptist Ministries as she is very involved with FCA and her church. Ive stressed she needs to continue her interest in extracurriculars (her current lsit of activities is 4 pgs long) while she is in college. She knows she will probably not get to cheer but is definitely interested in regimental band (she has been playing trumpet since 6th grade), religious activities, and special needs. Congrats for your son, glad to hear he is doing well.
