In case any prospective cadets were wondering about "career" opportunities after the Academy, take note that Corey Anderson of the CGA has been drafted by the Washington Nationals baseball team. He has been given special permission to play ball this summer as he needs another semester at the academy to graduate. He will also be playing football this fall as the school's record-setting quarterback. Read all about it.

Told my son about that on the drive down to NASS. PRETTY IMPRESSIVE!

But how did he get a semester behind? I will assume he was red-shirted freshman year, so that is why he is 5th year eligible.

He got a medical redshirt last year due to injury in football. I guess he got behind in his classes and needed another semester. That happens to about 5-6 kids a year.
