That has always been an amazing story.

I had the great luck of meeting Charles Brown at the Evergreen Air Museum in McMinnville Or. shortly before his death, he was signing a print that had been done by an artist showing both the B-17 and the German Fighter. He was so grasious, and told the story to those of us who sat eager to hear it, and there were many.
