Hey guys, question for you.

I'm currently a college freshman in my first Semester at a Cal State. I applied to the AFA last year as a high school senior but didn't receive an appointment. As of now I have finished every part of my application possible, the only outstanding documents are my first/second semester college transcripts. My first semester transcripts won't be available until at the earliest December but most likely January. Consequently, my portal shows my application as incomplete and says that my application can't be reviewed until complete. Will the admissions board even look at me unless my transcripts are in? The candidate information package states that conditional LOA's are given to college students and fulfilled if our transcripts meet the requirements; my ALO says the same thing...so I'm a little confused. Any ideas as to what's up?

Thanks in advance!

Pugilist, I have read elsewhere on this forum that they do not look at college reapplicants until later, maybe February, but not sure. Try and do a search as the post was fairly recent.

pugilist,

Contact your admissions counselor and notify them of the transcript issue. With that said, you can still complete the vast majority of your application.

College applicants are a "different breed" and are looked at differently from High School applicants.

Your package will be reviewed later; the academy wants to KNOW how you are doing in college. That's the big question that's being researched with the high school applicant: can they perform academically in a college environment; you're doing that now! So you get a different kind of "look."

Press on...keep up with the timing of your portal, and enjoy (I know, that's a really sad thing for me to say) the ride...
