Can anyone provide a "laymans" description as to what goes on during the three day Commadant Challenge coming up next week. What activities are involved, etc? Thanks

Off the top of my head, there'll be a SAMI (room inspection), PAI (personal appearance inspection), flight marching drill, rifal manual for 4*s, PT challenge (5k run, then max PFT), land nav (go out to Jack's Valley, use a map to navigate to some point), convoy, Falcon Fued (knowldege competition between squads), using chem gear, Airman's Manual test, and other things I'm not thinking of now. Hopefully others will fill in on what I'm missing.

Is it 3 days? My AOG calendar just shows it Sunday and Monday.

There will be stuff on the hill: marching, airman's manual test, SAMI, PAI, etc.

Then FTX at Jack's valley: IMT (urban operations), Convoy, Land nav, SABC (first aid), Chem gear, etc.

This year, each flight is given a couple FTX tasks, so no one will be doing everything.

Any examples?
Just making these up...

Name this occupational badge (show picture of badge).
Give the full name of the following plane (show silhouette of plane).
What is the name and pay grade of the following Navy rank? (show picture of rank)
During a SAMI, the military drawer will be pulled out how many inches?
Finish the follwing quote "If I do my full duty,..."
Give the primary function and speed of the B1-B.
Who shot down a Russian MiG-15 over North Korea in the first all jet aerial combat in history?
When may a 4*....?

It can be anything in 4* required knowledge or USAFA history or USAFA regs

You'd be asked things about the other services too? "Navy rank and pay grade" tha'ts interesting!

Probably not.

The Falcon Feud questions are designed to be answered by any cadet. The firsties didn't have certain knowledge our freshman year (other services' rank, for example).
At least, that's how it is supposed to work.

Yep...it starts saturday morning now...goes up until monday evening. Tuesday I believe is just falcon feud and then we get released at noon on tuesday

According to the proctors this morning, anything in our (2013's) Contrails, and the Cadet Sight Picture (August 2009 version) can be asked about. So, yes, all the other Service ranks are up for grabs, as they are in our Contrails.

Tomorrow can't wait!! Helo ride in the HH-60 Pave Hawk!!! It's gonna be awesome!

they asked us one or two ranks from other services yesterday.

Yeah, we got a few odd questions.

...good thing I use the package stop, lol.

ha. one of our sophomores got it. pretty impressive. 2302 cadet drive right?

I might be able to name the silhouette of the plane if its a fighter, the B1-B is a bomber, but I dont know its exact speed(supersonic), the North Korea question I've seen on Dogfights on the History Channel, but I'm not sure; the rest of them I'd probably get wrong. What happens if you get one of the answers wrong?

WOOO! My squad and Btown's won!! First squad in wing history to repeat

+10 for a correct answer. -5 for an incorrect answer.
