I have applied for the HSSP AFROTC scholarship and was interviewed by the commander at the detachment yesterday. I received a call from him this afternoon saying that he would like to offer me the CLS (he can only give one of these away per year) and it's a Type 2 scholarship. Does anybody have an more info pertaining to this? Has anybody gotten one before and what was your experience?

    Thanks!

My son, sophomore recieved one. It was a Type 2 Scholarship, and he was required to use it with a technical major (operational meteorology). The school itself also kicked in Room and Board scholarship. So far the experience has been great. Lots of stress this spring about EA allocations within the unit. Overall was a great experience. They gave him two weeks to decide, which can be challenging if your son/daughter has not considered what major to go into.

I will be majoring in Business and am supposed to make a decision by Tuesday. If I say "yes", the commander sends a form to Maxwell AFB which is basically nomination. Does this mean I will still get it or do I need to be accepted by a review board?
