I have seen many questions over the past year about the differences between AROTC and NROTC regarding applications, requirements, life in the program, etc. I thought it might be helpful to post here a little comparison chart I threw together. Unfortunately it is missiong a lot of information about AROTC specifics... if anyone has links to power points or releases from Cadet Command that might fill in the blanks, it is much appreciated.

Bottom Line: NROTC is roughly 20% the size of AROTC by both # commissioning and # of colleges participating. NROTC is further almost exclusively desirous of Science/Engineering Majors (85% of scholarships by hard rule), and the 15% that are not Science/Engineering are still required to take and pass 1 full year of Calculus, 1 full year of Chemistry, and 1 full year of calculus-based Physics.
