Competitive states

DS's BGO joked at initial interview moving to Compton in LA or North or South Dakota would make it easy to get a Nom and appointment. He said it jokingly and we didn't give any thought to it---but now I understand where the joke was coming from!!!:shake:

As you would expect Virginia (Northern VA) and Maryland are very competitive but also have lots of offers of appointments due to so many methods of nomination available. There are several people such as the Secretary of the Navy and the USNA Superintendent that have a number of nominations they can use. For under represented states, some congressional districts in ND, SD & WY didn't even submit a list of nominees for the class of 2017 due to the lack of applicants. Amazing, right.

Blondie1, If you don't mind me asking, what part of CA are you from?

My BGO showed me his "training manual" for lack of a better term and it had the underrepresented districts highlighted. Sadly I dont live there.
the states were mostly hte big square ones out west aka the dakotas.

crazy politics

due to crazy Illinois politics and their quasi illegal redistricting, we went from one of the most competitive districts in the state to one of the least competitive districts (based on amount of people requesting noms)...and we never moved.

This a was after son #1 got in (so not helpful) but plenty of time for daughter to apply.

Keep in mind if there are only two applicants from your district applying and the other applicant has a 36ACT, is a native american who speaks fluent Chinese and Russian, president of StuCo and can pitch a fastball 100 miles per hour then you now live in an incredibly competitive district.
Are you still living in Chicago?
