My DS's high school doesn't offer computer class, does he has to enroll in a college level computer science ?

He will take 4 AP courses next school year plus football, track and CAP, there is really no much room for him to take computer science out of school.

Without computer science, will it hurt his chance?

I don't think so. I never went to school in the US so my situation is completely different, but in my final year of High School (which would be analogous to Junior year in the US), I was taking BC Calculus, AP Physics, and AP Chemistry as my science/math courses. I'm from Quebec in Canada and we have something called CEGEP, which is a 2-year junior-college type program which students do before entering university. I'm taking computer programming there, but the Academy doesn't even know that yet as I'm only taking the course now.

Also, everything that I've read on USAFA web sites has indicated that comp sci is recommended, but not absolutely necessary. I'm sure they're aware of the fact that not everyone has the opportunity to take it.

If you can take a class, great. If not, I wouldn't stress it. I went in with no compsci/coding experience and have done fine.
