My son recieved the full ROTC scholarship. In addition he is entitled a state scholarship which will pay him full tuition (not anything else) under my 100% disabled status. He will also likely qualify for Fla. Bright Futures (about $70 a semester hour) and will be receiving additional Chapter 35 benefits (a monthly stipend for 48 months). Now how does all of this financial aid work and combine together? His ROTC does not pay food, housing, transportation. Will any of the additional benefits go towards those things? What can likely he possibly take home after expenses? Any advice for putting all this together?

Thank You,
Signed, A very grateful mom.

What kind of scholarship does he have? AROTC, NROTC, NROTC MO, AFROTC? AROTC can be used for tuition or room and board. That is why I was asking what kind.

NROTC, I do not believe that it will pay anything other than Full Tuition and Books.

Contact the Bursar's office for guidance. My on guess is the state tuition scholarship will be lost, but the Bright Futures and the CHapter 35 benefits will remain, unless they are tied to accepting the state scholarship.
