With regards to the height and weight standards, if an ROTC applicant does not fit within the standard weight for height (weight too high), is an alternative means of qualification such as tape measurement or other tests administered at the physical exam or is that done at a different time (through the remedial process)? We are very confident that her body fat content is well within guidelines (<30%). Her athletic situation requires rather strong lower body (hip and thigh) so she tends to bulk up.

Mr Mullen, we are still getting the application through the process so we are not in the DoDMERB system yet, but we are trying to plan in advance logistically how this will work as my daughter attends school 1000 miles from home, so logistics can become sticky in the fall.

Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide.

DoDMERB does NOT make medical determinations regarding weight, unless there is an associated medical issue (e.g. malnourished or obesity). We do notify the ROTC program "if" their Service screening weight standard is NOT met. Administratively, the ROTC program handles those situations according to their service standards.

Army = Could not find it easily. Recommend you contacy Cadet Command.

Thank you for the references and confirming the feedback link to the ROTC program.

With ours being an AROTC situation, we'll make sure to get with Cadet Command if the situation arises.

I figured as much. I know that the applicant MUST meet Ht/Wt standards OR be within body fat standards to activate the scholarship. It just was as easy for me to find:thumb:
