concussions cause DQ?

I think the answer you're going to get here, from ANYONE, but potentially from KP2001, our resident military flight surgeon is:

Maybe.

Every individual is viewed independently...and each persons medical history is evaluated on its own. Nobody here can tell you definitively, at least, I don't think they can (KP, tell me if I'm wrong) from just that simple question.

Now...if you said: "I'm 17, have had 23 concussions from sports injuries..." then perhaps that might set off alarm bells, but again; ONLY a DODMERB official can tell you specifics to your case. There are some things listed in the DODMERB regulation that say "yes or no" but the vast majority of things...require individual evaluation.

I know it all varies... 2 concussions, but one of them included staying out of school for over a week due to headaches, throwing up and not allowed to read/watch tv during that time.

I didn't know if that is one of those instant DQs and it is really hard to get a waiver for.

The only way you are going to get an aswer on that one is to apply and go through the process, IMPO.

On the medical history form you will describe your concussions. Dodmerb also may additionally send you a Concussion questionnaire that you are to complete detailing your head injuries. Dodmerb may also ask you for your medical records.
After reviewing all of that information they will make a determination on your case.
