On Saturday, August 6, 30 American service members lost their lives in a Chinook helicopter crash in Afghanistan. Among those killed were 22 Navy Seals. These brave men rode into battle in order to assist some Army Rangers under heavy Taliban fire.

May condolences go out the the family members of the lost service members. I can only imagine the pain that they must be going through at the time.

May God bless not only the lost warriors, but those who are still on the front lines protecting our freedoms at home. May all the lost souls rest peacefully. Please pray, or atleast give your thoughts to these lost men.

We must honor these men, and keep them in our memories, so thank you to all on the forums who have served, are serving, or are applying to the academies/ROTC or any other forms of service.

Once again, may God bless the lives lost, may God bless the lives still fighting, and may God bless America.

One of those two pilots was a dear friend of mine. We are still reeling from the news. We know that in their final moments, they did the best they could with the situation they had.

So sorry to hear that, my condolences. It is always terribly painful to lose close friends. Not too long ago my nephew lost a close pilot friend in a training exercise. It's a bolt from out of the blue when it happens.
