Well just got a call from the BGO. We have been patently waiting the BFE. They are going to be looking at DD file again now that she has her medical waiver for allergic reaction to watermelon. He did ask if she would be open to the prep-school. He knew little about it and when looking at their sight it is non-specific too. Does him asking this mean she is going to be recommended to the prep school? Is that a bad thing?
Is the prep-school tuition based? Any info welcome. So confused and lost. Would she have to reapply to the Academy and get another nomination?

Your BGO asking about NAPS could mean something or it could not. It is normally a question during the BGO Interview. I would recommend opening up to NAPS because you get a pretty good deal. It also shows the Academy that the applicant is motivated to attend USNA. The Midshipman Candidates are paid as an E1 (Seaman Recruit) which is more than what Midshipman make at the Academy. You will be admitted to the Academy the following year if you meet the GPA requirement (2.2 I believe) and you receive a nominations. You are encouraged to apply for all sources of nominations, but if you fail to get a nomination and you are qualified otherwise, you will be nominated by the Secretary of the Navy. You do have to reapply per se, but the application is very streamlined and mostly taken care of by the faculty and Midshipman Candidates. I do not think there is tuition but I am not sure.

Best of Luck!

Camidwestmom. It was intentional. Just getting as much info as possible. This thread gets less traffic.
