Hello again everyone. I have a quick question regarding congressional nominations. I had my interview today and was told that there are 2 slots open for nomination to Annapolis and that the interviews would send the Academy 10 candidates for every slot open. Then the Academy would pick their favorite out of the ten (or in my case 20) and those would be the candidates to get the nomination. My question is, how does the academy pick? Do they look at the candidates application to the Academy at all or do they pick from the feedback given by the interviewers? I thought my interview went absolutely perfect but I'm still very nervous; this realy is my last shot at getting in the Academy. Thanks for all the help and Ill be looking forward to hearing about ANYTHING you guys can shed light on regarding my "congressional predicament". :thumb:

The academy scores applicants and pick based on the highest scores. Your interview helped you get a a nom, but won't really help after that. If you are more qualified, meaning a higher score than the other 18-19 then you will be appointed.

So you are saying all 20 of the people sent to Annapolis are nominated?

Why is this your last shot? Are you 22?

All 20 have nominations and the Academy will offer appointments to those they deem qualified.

I think you might be a bit confused over the appointment process. "Do they look at the Candidates application to the Academy at all or do they pick from the feedback given by the interviews?" The Admissions Board looks ONLY at the Academy application which includes your essay (hope you did a good job) and your BGO interview (which you naturally realized was extremely important and were on top of your game for). The congressional offices give only a list with names to the Admissions Board----nothing else.

The BGO interview is the only opportunity you have to put a face and personality to the statistics and numbers that the Board looks at.
