I just found out that I received my congressional nomination... Should I inform my candidate technician of this or will Westpoint find out about my nomination by themselves? Also, how long would it take for the nomination to appear on my portal? Thank you!

They will get it. It might take a couple of weeks to show up, especially with it being the holidays.

My letter was dated Dec 14. It was updated on the portal three days later. If you have the 3Q Letter and nomination, you most likely have to wait like me. If you have your LOA and Nomination, you should expect an appointment in the first wave of appointments.

My son found out about his first nomination by looking at his portal, just few days after his interview with our congressman. He received another nomination last Friday from a senator, and it still hasn't appeared on the portal. I think it depends on how prompt the MOC staffers are at sending the nominations in.

I am not positive but I do not believe there is anything for WP admissions to enter. I believe each MOC has their own log in with each academy and they enter it directly, hence the quick turnarounds noted. Certainly there are likely a few MOCs who don't use the system and the noms are sent in to admissions via snail mail, plus the delay for WP staff to enter them.
