None of the nomination sources (that I am eligible for) have renewed application cycle. I am trying to give my teachers plenty of time to complete letters of recommendation and was wondering if the Noms needed a letter as well.

All MOCs run their nomination processes differently. But it would be a safe assumption that they will want letters of reccomendations. Your best option would be to call each MOC, ask for the person in charge of academy nominations, and ask them. Also, find out if the LORs should go directly to them or if you should assemble them with your package.

For my DS one source had the teachers upload their LOR to their site. The other 3 had him add the letters to the package he sent in.

BTW I commend you on starting early.

Each nom source is different and if you apply to multiple academies each one of them is different as well. Some want specific people like Math teacher and English teacher and community member... and some want on-line forms while others want letters while others want you to use their recommendation form. Get ready, get organized, and get going. Eat the elephant one bite at a time. Start early because you will run into delays. Good luck kid.

Good guidance here - everyone is different, but starting early is essential.

The vast majority of MOC's start their process in mid/late June, or early July.

Keep watching their websites!
