How does it impact the congressional nominee slate when athletes commit to play a sport at West Point from your district? Is this automatically charged to the nominating source or is there another pool that athletes are charged to?

Just wondering as several from our district have accepted to play at different academies and we're wondering if chances are now slim for an appointment.

Thanks for any information!

The athletes are not always charged to the congressional district. For example, the football players in my district signed long after appointments came out; they were Supe noms, I assume. My son applied early and was also recruited. We assume the senator was charged with his nom...but he had an LOA, so it did not impact the numbers allowed for that MoC.
