Congressman submits "age waiver" bill for active duty members

DS swears there is a CC headed to West Point from his USMAPS class next week, that is on an age waiver right now???

Another point to make is; I wonder how many incoming plebes are really 19 instead of 18 now, remember, it was all the rage for this generation to be held back one year before starting school and it seemed that most of the kids in my children's classes over the years were always a year older than ours.

Dunno whether the rumor is true or not, but this is from the USMA website:

Q: Are there age waivers?
No. You must not be older than 23 years of age on July 1 of the year entering USMA (22 on July 1 of the year entering the Prep School).

Seems to me if there was a waiver, this Congressman could have gotten it done for this kid with a phone call instead of a bill.

Why let a good opportunity to get your mug on TV go to waste?

Does anyone know if waivers are available now? Did this bill pass? I have a very good friend who is in the same boat and I would love to share some good news with him!

You should know, you started THREE new threads on the same subject, when you could have simply updated this thread.
