I was asked a question by a friend of mine and I didn't quite know the answer. If a college applicant is in Marine Corps PLC and contracts to become an official Officer Candidate and obligates themselves to OCS next summer, what happens if they receive an appointment to the Naval Academy? Will accepting the appointment void the contract or what?

Yes. An appointment to a service academy will supersede any other contract to join the service.
