Anyone every ask for a copy of their DODMERB medical, vision or remedial examinations when done by a DODMERB/Concorde provider?

If so, was DODMERB willing to provide a copy of the report to the applicant?

We did not but in hindsight we should have and should have asked the doctor if their were any immediate issues. When our remedial letter from Dodmerb arrived 2 weeks later it stated that we needed an administrative remedial because our son had an ear infection. Our DS defintley did not have an ear infection and if he really did we would have like to find out that day. We went ahead and paid the co pay to get clearance from our doctor that he had no ear infection and everything was clear. We sent in both admin remedials (the other was plantar facsitis due to running) in 1 envelope like they requested and sent it certified. Recieved a letter from Dodmerb Saturday stating they still needed him to do an administrative remedial on this darned ear infection that never existed. We are calling today. Yes, request copies!

So, I called Concorde to check it out. Exams results are sent to Concorde who overnights them to DODMERB. Concorde is the "chaser" to get the exam results from the provider.

Concorde tells me that DODMERB will provide copies to applicant's upon request.

Once the DODMERB site indicates that they have my DS's report, I'll ask for a copy and report back if it worked.

Called Dodmerb today and they explained to me that they simply do not have my DS's note from his doctor even though we sent it in the same certified envelope as the remedial that was accepted and cleared. He said we could fax a copy of the original and my DS would be cleaered once recieved and reviewed. Lot of lessons learned in this whole process. During the process of resolving our medical remedial for a fish allergy that doctor actually offered a copy of the report right then and we grabbed it.

We were able to receive a copy of the remedial exam report from DoDMERB. Required a written request from DS; all in, 3+ weeks to receive.

I was able to get copies of my physical before the doctor submitted it to DoDMerb. All I did was ask to review it and for copies.

DS has a vision DQ. I was able to contact the optometrist and get a copy of the report. DS also sent in a letter to DODMERB requesting the report (we didn't know the dr would give it to us). So we needed up with two copies. DODMERB just wanted the request in writing.

FYI...the information in the medical record belongs to the patient and you (the patient or designated representative) are always entitled to it. Now, they may charge you for copies but it there is a limit as to what can be charged (I forget what the limit is off the top of my head). With electronic records many providers/organizations are beginning to provide the record electronically.
