Correct Pushup Form

As you can see, in the first image, the shoulders are pushed back more, as opposed to the second image, where the shoulders are almost aligned with the head. Which one is the "correct" way to do a pushup? I've seen both done before. Personally, I have always been doing the pushup as shown in the second image, which has been extremely easy for me. Doing the pushup shown in the first picture, however, is an entirely different story. Thoughts?
 
90 degrees. 90 degrees is key my friend. Wherever you go, when it comes to pushups you will always, without fail, hear 90 degrees. It doesn't matter whether you do close hand, wide hand , or shoulder width pushups, as long as you reach 90 degrees you are good.
