Countdown

I have a feeling that beast will look just a little different than that.

haha wow, at least you're thinking ahead?.... 5 years ahead. lol

Good for you guys! I only have to double that time :) lol

BSA,
All i thought about in your remark to Hornet was:
SILLY WABBIT TRIX ARE FOR KIDS!

Why would they NOT just go along with it ? Unless they really screw up (basically do something illegal), that's them! By this time they already know what their career path is. They probably also have a SHORT calendar in ttheir room and looking up rentals for the UPT bases!:yllol: The only thing they are wondering about is who the commencement speaker is! Presidents rotates, Bush spoke in 08, that means Obama will be there in 12, Biden was this yr, thus I believe it should be Sec of AF.

Unrelated...sometimes its a famous American. Pres Reagan couldn't make it to ours (it was our turn) so we had Barry Goldwater.

VERY NICE!!!

VERY NICE!!!Thank G*d I was not sipping on a soda because it would have come out of my nose after reading that one(I really did make a snorting noise with a gulp and chuckle) Let's see who do you want? Reagan...Goldwater...Goldwater...Reagan, yep they are on par! What about Olds, wasn't he available?

yes the second one is much better! It odd to think that some crazy kids like us actually want that! lol

The yelling is the least of my worries about the Academy. They will probably get to me at some point, but I really don't mind it. The thing I am worried about is taking 20 credit hours on top of everything else, and still getting decent grades.

Good Luck

I kept counting trying to think if Potter would be a firstie for 2014.....Wow 4 years goes by fast.

I don't mind school at all, but I hope I can learn all the time management skills that I need to still get good grades. I am taking college classes now, but never more than 15 credit hours.

Good Luck

bsa, are you home schooled, because otherwise I have no clue how you could take 15 hrs, even with jump start it will be nearly impossible to take 15, plus your req. courses at the hs and do ECS like sports or a job.

For any university currently 16-19 credits is what I think the avg.

DS is potter going to be on air this yr? How's Nellis, nice and hot?

Yes I am homeschooled, but I have been taking classes comparable to typical high school students. My senior year I am taking Calc II and III, College Bio, Calc based Physics, Speech, and Political Science. I am also a certified Math Tutor at the college so I can keep up my Algebra and simple math skills which helped a lot (especially with the SAT).

Thanks

I am sure that made filling out your PCQ and getting teacher recs easier for your file than the typical homeschooler.

Just out of curiosity what is the difference between Physics and Calc based Physics, because the Physics my DS took at HS you had to have Calc as a req., and I recall my hs yrs and Physics and we had to have at least Trig and Pre-Calc. You know now adays there are so many new courses it could make any parents head spin. The ones that usually make me say huh? Are some of these AP courses. I think we had about 9, AP Calc, APUSH, APGOV, AP ENG, AP LIT and all of the sciences, there was no AP Western Civilization Art.

Physics are really done the best with calc. Algebra and Pre-calc have to make a stretch to fill the need in physics. The basic ideas in Calc, such as integration, differentiation, area under curves and tangent lines, etc., really help when you are doing physics. From my interaction as a math tutor I think that, if you have taken Calc of course, that Calc Physics are actually easier. The main difference is that Calc based are more natural, where Algebra based are very difficult to work, and hard to apply. You don't have to make the stretch of forcing Algebra to do things that it is really not designed to do.

I don't know much about AP courses, but I do know that there are many different courses listed just in the math department (I think there are over 20 different levels of math offered at the College I attend).

So in essence it is basically Physics that we all take, it is not equivalent to AP, or honors or a specialty Physics. Thanks for the clarification.

APs allow you to get college credits. Comm College classes may or may not. They typically will allow you to test out, but the credits do not transfer, which at the AFA doesn't matter. DS took both AP Eng and Lit, he got 6 credits, did jump start at the community college and tested out to Eng 310. The credits did not transfer. He entered with 18 credits for his AP classes, took 18 credits in his sr yr at hs along with the 12 credits at the hs, the college credits did not transfer or get counted.

Colleges will offer a ton because they start at remedial work up the ladder through ALg to Calc, Stats and Quantum.
