Hi Everyone!
So I am going to be a junior next year. I am thinking about taking these courses Junior and senior year.
Junior:
-Honors Euro Lit (weighted)
-Honors Pre-Calc (weighted)
-AP Chem
-AP Comp Sci or AP World
-ASB or Orchestra
-French 3

Senior:
- AP Calc
- AP English
- AP physics
- AP gov and Econ (does this count as a year of social sciences?)
- ASB or Orchestra
-French 4

I have a couple questions about my schedule...
1. I know lots of colleges like to see some sustained activity of high school. I was going to keep orchestra for four years but I want to do ASB and possibly double science. Should I do that or keep orchestra?
2. Should I take a fourth year of french?
3. Are my schedules math and science heavy enough?

Those look good but you should add a sport... You need to be well rounded

ASB is the Associated Student Body. It is just a student government that run many important activities and aspects of the school.

That's a course? Sounds like a bunch of hooey to this old-timey mother. Take a REAL subject.

I don't see any English in your junior year. Explanation?

Well,
ASB is student government, which I really would like to participate in (leadership, involvement). ASB takes out of class commitment too. The "class" it takes up in my schedule is a leadership class that goes along with ASB. I come from California. Do schools in other states not have a student government like this?

Is student government a club at your school or can it only be taken as a class? I know in our state, it can only be taken as a class in high school... this is why I opted to find leadership roles in other clubs.

It's kind of like an organization but there is the "ASB class" that has to be taken with it. With that said, ASB offers a lot more leadership opportunities and I think is one of the best ways to become involved at school.

I was also wondering if Ap Government and H. Economy (they are a semester each and are required by our school to graduate) count as a year of social science

I would take the AP class over the Honors class. For your junior year choice between AP Comp Sci or AP World, take the one you will enjoy more.
If you drop Orchestra could you do marching band as an EA.

Here on the east coast, ASB is not used. Student government is an extracurricular activity that does not take up a class spot in the schedule.

Yes, I believe they do count as a year of social studies unless for some reason they are not in that department at your high school.
