CTLT Opportunities

Ft Carson. Would've been nice to grab the Hawaii slot, but can't complain about Colorado at all.

What branch are you going with? Have fun with PT...

Keep in mind there is nothing to do on post and Springs is a $30 cab fare one way. To get to any of the other outdoor sites like Pikes Peak or Garden of the God the fee can be more so bring buddies. Also, utilize the military courtesy patrol downtown to get back to post for free. It's a service to prevent DUIs or other negative consequences drunk soldiers run into after bar hours.

I ended up getting Alaska after LDAC for this year for my CTLT position. They have yet to tell me which base I will be at, but I will assume either Fort Richardson or Fort Wainwright.

CTLT Scheduling

Is CTLT always after LDAC? If so, does this mean the 9/10 and 11/12 regiments are basically precluded? (unless school doesnt start up until September)

I would think that the BDE would allocate the later reg CTLT slots to those schools with September startup dates. Across a BDE that wouldn't be too difficult.

There are slots dotted throughout the regiments but most tend to be stacked within regs 1-4 and 11-14. I was 2nd reg with a CTLT slot. Most often CTLT comes after LDAC however I met a few cadets who had already completed their rotation when LDAC rolled around.

My LDAC comes after CTLT and I will be in 12th regiment, thus I will be gone from 4Jul-1Aug (LDAC), then again from 1Aug until the end of the month (3-4 weeks CTLT). We have an early September start up.

I was surprised to find out I was placed in CTLT slot. I am SMP. I thought this wasn't permitted. Is there some sort of exception to policy for SMP participants I'm not aware of?

I was a nurse and they let me go, as long as you are contracted it doesn't matter.

Like I said it's not uncommon to have flip flops with CTLT/LDAC which is why you see slots stacked in early or late regs.

My son's is going to CTLT prior to LDAC He has 8th for LDAC. It has him getting back June 24th from CTLT and then heading for LDAC on June 25th.
His school starts back on August 21st.

Hopefully the budget cuts don't cut the CTLT but I'm sure it's going to be a bit tough jumping from one to the other with one day in between.

I had 4 hours, so I am sure one day will be fine.
