DS will be flying from home to Ft. Knox for CULP. He was told not to wear his uniform while traveling. What would be appropriate attire for travel to Ft. Knox? Thanks.

All cadets flying to and from summer training have to go in civilians, when I went a good 70% were told to wear their detachment's polo shirts or tshirt and khakis with tennis shoes (because he might have to do a lot of walking/lifting of bags when he gets there). I wore my battalion's tshirt and nice jeans to LDAC and I was fine. Just something nice looking and plain enough that he won't stand out.

Cadets should dress in a way that doesn't bring any discredit to the program. You don't have to wear a suit and tie or anything, but shouldn't be flip flops and a wife beater either.

Same as above. Traveling in a unit polo (or just any collared shirt) and khaki shorts/pants/jeans is perfectly fine. Definitely no need for a suit, though I saw some people show up to ldac in them, and you definitely shouldn't show up in t shirt and shorts.

I wore a collared unit shirt, khaki shorts, and tennis shoes.

Cadets should travel like this for all summer training
