Is anybody getting updates on their CULP orders? DS has not had any contact since he was notified he was selected. He does have his orders ( time frame, when and where to report). He will be talking to his HR person this week. Also he has a valid blue US passport , will he need a red one as well? Thanks.

    Sherriff3,

Is you DS already in ROTC, or is this for his summer going into Freshman year, etc.?

    Thanks!

I ended up getting a phone call from my XO saying that the command teams were having a hard time obtaining ways to contact their cadets, so be patient.
The DoD passport will depend on the country you will visit. Most NATO countries require only NATO orders and a valid Military ID. More East-Jesus Nowhere locales will require the red passport.

    FMB is pretty accurate.

Did he get his orders from his HRA or did they populate on the HRC website?

Does he have contact with his Team Leader, XO, or Mission Commander? They should be pressing him to get his passport paperwork submitted if he needs an official one. If they haven't said anything, he's probably good, but he can check to see if his mission requires one.

Also, make sure he checks his orders to see if the dates are correct. A few from my mission, including mine, have been incorrect.

Edit: Go to rotc.blackboard.com and enroll in CULP and complete the necessary pre deployment training. If he can't access it, he'll be able to do it at Knox. I'm tracking a deadline of 15 FEB for that to be completed.

I had the same problem, but they are just backed up. HR at my school said to wait and keep checking the hrcapps website. He noted that the actual order is under the "documents" tab. The time frame and the simple strip of information is under the "orders" tab. Once in the document tab it should stick out with a title similar to "Active Duty Orders" or something of the sort. Mine were dated 20 Dec 2013 and arrived on the website on 28 Jan 2014.

As for the Red Passport, it depends on where he is going. As -Bull- said getting on the rotc blackboard and enrolling in CULP will reveal that information under the Official Passport Tab. Personally, I'm going to EUCOM, where no red passport is needed and a blue tourist, although not required, is recommended.

Here is the list of countries from 2013 that required a red passport

ARGENTINA, AZERBAIJAN, BANGLADESH, BENIN, BRAZIL, BURKINA FASO, CAMBODIA, CAPE VERDE, CHILE, CHINA, GHANA, INDIA, INDONESIA, JORDAN, KAZAKHSTAN, LAOS, MALAWI, MALI, MOZAMBIQUE, PARAGUAY, PERU, RUSSIA, SAUDI ARABIA, TANZANIA, THAILAND,
TOGO, VIETNAM, BOSNIA&HERZ., BOTSWANA, COSTA RICA, CROATIA, EL SALVADOR, ESTONIA, KYRGYZSTAN, MACEDONIA REP OF, MALAYSIA, MICRONESIA, MOLDOVA, MONGOLIA, MONTENEGRO, PANAMA, RWANDA, SENEGAL, TUNISIA, UKRAINE

Anyone else having every possible SNAFU happen to the unholy duo of JKO and AKO? That FEB 15 deadline for training completion may or may not happen.

That list for Official Passports is mostly correct, but is missing a few countries. Be sure to check with either your TL, XO, or MC to find out if you need one or not.

FMB, don't worry about that training if you absolutely can't get to it. Seems like a number of cadets are having issues accessing JKO and the other training without CAC cards. You'll be able to finish that stuff at Knox when you get your CAC. Highly suggest you keep trying (try different computers, etc.) because some of that training is long (SERE 100 will take you about 5-6 hours alone) and you don't want to spend all of your Knox time on the computer...not that Knox is that interesting, but you can spend some time watching the cluster**k that will be LDAC.

Don't know what the issues are, but try different browsers as well. Web site issues are often related to a particular browser or version level of that browser.

My son has been receiving regular email communication from the commander for his CULP mission to Kosovo. Dates had changed -then returned to original.

Im curious to see this transition as well. How much "down" time could a cadet on CULP expect to have while at Knox, with only ISOPREP to complete?

It will depend on what all needs to be done prior to their deployment to country and if there are issues with the trip. Ideally, not much, but you never know what comes up. They won't be let loose to run wild and wreak havoc amongst ldac and LTC but they may have a little bit of time to "sight see".

:thumb:Jkaz your information was spot on! DS followed your instructions and was able to retreive his orders that were dated 12/18/2013. I would all who are waiting CULP orders to do this. I had the same problem, but they are just backed up. HR at my school said to wait and keep checking the hrcapps website. He noted that the actual order is under the "documents" tab. No problem at all. I also found the biggest problem for other cadets in my battalion was with accessing JKO to complete SERE, and if your AFRICOM, the Human Trafficking training. If for any reason someone hasn't started it by now, I strongly encourage you register for an account ASAP. It will take a few hours for the account to be made before you can start the training, so don't wait until 15FEB (Friday) to make an account. Directions for this are also handily available on the ROTC blackboard under pre deployment requirements.

I was told everyone had to complete Human Trafficking training, not just folks going to AFRICOM.
Several of my classmates, like me, are locked out of AKO (I just changed my password too much, some folks have more serious problems) and therefore simply can't get into JKO practically. How detrimental would it be if we did have to complete training at Knox?

Curious about the Trafficking, I had a fellow cadet receive an email instructing him he didn't need to do it. I am in the same Command structure as him and have not gotten any guidance as to whether or not it should be completed. Also from my knowledge it fell under the list of required training on the original acceptance packet sent via AKO along with SERE, and AT. ROTC blackboard has it listed under pre deployment requirements that Trafficking is AFRICOM only.

I would assume since ISOPREP requires a CAC card and to my knowledge we will not receive a CAC until arrival at Knox that it will be completed there. As for the rest of training I'm sure there will be enough time at some point.

Human Trafficking depends on where you're going. AFRICOM is a yes, but some others I'm not sure. If you look on ROTC blackboard, it will tell you if you have to complete it.

Ft Knox time is for pre-deployment so if you have completed your training by then, you'll have enough time to complete it. You can't deploy without that stuff being complete.
