Hi Everyone!

I am currently a 2nd Class Midshipman at USNA (rising junior)! I joined the forum because my mother constantly asks me for the answers to the questions she reads on here. I'm a female mid from Georgia, a member of NAPS class of 2008 and a proud member of the mighty class of 2012!!!!

I am more than willing to answer any questions about the academy. I'm pretty sure I have an understanding on how things work by now, but I still have so much to learn. I promise not to be cynical, but I won't sugar coat my answers either. However, all my answers will come from my own personal experience or experiences that I have seen firsthand (everyone's academy experience is different).

If you are a candidate, good luck and stay the course!

If you are a parent, believe me your child is fine and in good hands.

GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!

Welcome Peach!

We always enjoy having current mids/cadets on here to give the candidates and others a perspective that only current mids can give.

Let us know if you have any questions/concerns.

Welcome to the forum. :thumb:

I'll second KP's remarks and thank you again for joining. It's always great to have that firsthand perspective that current cadets and midshipmen offer.

Welcome PEACH2112
I can't thank you enough for what you are doing and going to do. I said to a Midshipmen who is a family friend, that Cadets and Midshipmen who attend the Academies, will accomplish more in four years, than students will attend a traditional college or university in the next twenty years of their lives. You young men and women must learn to do things that you thought you could not. You must also first learn to follow, then learn to lead. You are among the best and the brightest in the country.

Thanks for all you do,
God Bless and God Speed,
RGK

calculators at NAPS and USNA

Just curious, I read in the NAPS handbook that you could only use a four function calculator at school. How is that? I've been taught how to work problems that way but love my TI83. Does USNA have the same rule? I am currently a candidate for USNA. After, seeing all the quals of the LOAS recently, I'm praying to make it to NAPS. I have a good app and low ACT scores. I'm now fininshing my app and all the MOC apps. Thanks for your time-know you are busy.
