Happy Easter!

Is any candidate or appointee who went to CVW this past weekend willing to share your experience? Did it meet your expectations of life in Annapolis? Has it confirmed your desire to attend?

I can answer this on behalf of my DS. He loved the experience and it further confirmed his desire to serve...if that's even possible. He spent quite a bit of time talking to the Plebes. They gave him the good, the bad, and the ugly. He said that they basically all told him "the first year sucks". Lol! That didn't deter him one bit. The Plebes he hung out with all got to USNA via different routes. Some from Prep, high school, and some who had enlisted. Although they said it was difficult they all wanted to be there.

My husband and I attended the parent forums and were very impressed. I strongly encourage parents to attend. USNA put together an amazing day for us full of information on admissions, curriculum, Q&A with some very funny Midshipman, and a top notch behind the scenes tour. I can't say enough great things about it.

So now the journey begins for my DS. He will complete his application, contact his MOC, BGO, and every other acronym in between! I will smile, lend support, and shed a little tear once in a while as I too face the enormous reality of what my DS has decided for his future. I am so proud of the amazing kids on this forum and their desire to serve. God Bless!

That's great news for you and even more so for your DS! Many on the forum are here to support the best we can! Welcome to the ride and best wishes to your DS!

Thank you so much! I found this forum and it's been fantastic. My husbands parents and grandparents are all military but this is new for me...it must be in the blood! So nice to read the different threads. I've boarded the roller coaster and ready for the year long journey with my DS.
